A presentation by Emily Letts

Emily Letts made national and international headlines last May when she filmed her own abortion while working as an abortion counselor in New Jersey. The video went viral after Cosmopolitan published an interview of her titled, “Why I Filmed My Abortion”. She was featured in Huffington Post, NBC News, The Dr. Drew Show, BBC, Salon.com and many other major media sources. The video now has millions of views and counting. Emily is now a dual masters student in social work and public health at UIC and has agreed to share her journey with us. Hear her speak about her efforts to de-stigmatize abortion, her experience with the media and what she has learned from the stories of thousands of women across America.
Food will be served. Please RSVP at WLRC@UIC.EDU.
