Seeing Women of Color at the Forefront of the Movement For Reproductive Justice
Reproductive justice is not only about the demand for abortion rights. Reproductive justice is a political framework for ensuring marginalized people of color have access to health care, economic justice, and social justice. Reproductive justice asks not only for the right to terminate a pregnancy, but also the right to carry a pregnancy to term, to have gender affirming medical care be accessible and safe, and for families of all types have what they need to survive and thrive. Representatives from the Chicago Abortion Fund and the Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health will talk about how people of color have always been leaders of this movement. They will speak about the work they are doing now and the future of reproductive justice in the United States and beyond.
Food will be served. Please RSVP at WLRC@UIC.EDU.
