Are you a woman-identifying student in Business or STEM looking to build connections and community at UIC? The Women’s Leadership and Resource Center invites you to join our new Affinity Group!
- Open to UIC undergraduate, graduate, and professional students who identify as women and are majoring or interested in STEM and business fields
- Topic: Self- and community-care
As always, we'll start with the topic of the day and then see where the conversation takes us! We'll also make natural hand/body sugar scrubs and design wellness calendars to make sure we're surviving and thriving through the end of the semester.
WLRC’s Affinity Groups provide students who share an identity or professional interest space to gather, discuss shared experiences, support each other through challenges, and affirm and celebrate their communities. Each group meets once a month and is facilitated by WLRC staff.
We recognize that these groups encompass broad populations that will have some shared experiences as well as many varied and unique cultures and histories. Our goal is to create spaces for us to celebrate these differences while building solidarity and support for each other. We will consider creating additional groups in the future based on the needs and interests of our participants.
- Masks are required.
- Snacks will be available for takeaway. Attendees may not eat inside the event space.
