About
Vivian Tu is a junior at UIC, majoring in Integrated Health Studies with a pre-nursing track. Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, she spent her formative years in Mexico, gaining fluency in Mandarin, Spanish, and English. She plans to apply to nursing school this year.
Vivian is deeply committed to advancing health equity and accessibility through her healthcare journey. She has published research in the UIC Journal for Health Equity, focusing on cervical cancer disparities among low-income women of color. Her long-term goal is to leverage her nursing career to promote healthcare access, enhance healthcare environments, and improve benefits for healthcare workers.
Currently, Vivian also works as an office aide in the Department of Pediatrics and volunteers at UI Health, further fueling her passion for serving underserved communities.
In her free time, she enjoys restaurant hunting, biking, hanging out with friends, meeting new people, and photography. Please feel free to connect with her!
