Welcome to the WLRC Scavenger Hunt!

Explore the UIC campus, make new friends, and win cool prizes!

The Details Heading link

Important info to get you started:

  • The hunt opens Monday, August 28, 2023 at 12pm CT. All players will be emailed a link to the hunt items at that time. Check your inbox for a message from wlrc@uic.edu.
  • The hunt closes Friday, September 8, 2023 at 9pm CT.
  • Winners will be announced the week of September 11.
  • Play with a partner or on your own. 2 people max per team.
  • Open only to currently enrolled UIC students.

Entries will be judged by a panel of certified huntologists and awarded points based on completeness and creativity. Don’t assume that the team that completes the highest number of tasks will win!

Be sure to read and comply with the rules throughout the hunt!

  1. Safety first! Don’t do anything that might cause harm or danger to you or anyone else. Wear a mask in public places that request them.
  2. For photo and video tasks, make sure the Instagram profile you use is set to “public.” You can create a new account for the hunt if you don’t want to make your personal account public.
  3. Be kind–to yourself, your teammate, and everyone you encounter during the hunt.
  4. Don’t spend money! You should be able to accomplish all tasks without spending a penny.
  5. Be creative! If you have a unique interpretation of a task, go for it.
  6. Be adventurous! We want you to explore the campus as much as you are able and/or stretch your creative limits.
  7. Feel free to modify a task to meet your accessibility needs! If you have any accessibility concerns or questions, please email us at wlrc@uic.edu.
  8. Have fun! We want you to enjoy the experience!

The Prizes Heading link

The judging panel of certified huntologists will award prizes to the top 3 teams/players:

  • 1st Prize: $50 UIC Bookstore gift card + large swag bag full of surprises for each team member
  • 2nd Prize: $25 UIC Bookstore gift card + large swag bag full of surprises for each team member
  • 3rd Prize: $25 UIC Bookstore gift card + small swag bag full of surprises for each team member

All players who submit at least three completed items will also receive a gift!
