If art is the liminal space where fantasy touches reality, Maya Mackrandilal’s #NEWGLOBALMATRIARCHY demands that this space be utilized to free oppressed people. It sees marginalized people as the catalyst for change, with the lived experiences and perspectives necessary to be the architects of new worlds.
About the Presenter
Maya Mackrandilal is a transdisciplinary artist, writer, and arts administrator based in Los Angeles. She holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she was a recipient of a Jacob K. Javits Fellowship.
