The beating to death of Mahsa Amini, a young Iranian Kurdish woman, by the morality police for not wearing her headscarf properly has triggered massive popular demonstrations and violent state repression across Iran. What do Iranian protesters want? And why is this movement important for democratic struggles across the world? Join us for a cross-campus dialogue featuring Prof. Norma Moruzzi (UIC), Prof. Kaveh Ehsani (De Paul), and Prof. Atef Said (UIC).

The event will take place at the UIC Institute for the Humanities (1007 W. Harrison St., Suite 153) and via Zoom.

Registration is required to attend via Zoom.
